Hey everyone, good seeing you again after three weeks of inactivity. So, two things. I did a little bit of surfing on the FTC and I noticed that during the last days of 2019, it finally became obvious that Youtube will start to impose takedowns on videos while under heavy pressure from the FTC on 2020.
Literally I'm not even joking, the Governor of New York demand that Youtube and Google pay a hefty sum of $170 million for allegedly collecting children's privacy without the permission of their parents. This is caused by the fact that most videos aimed at children violating guidelines and also the refusal of parents using Youtube Kids. Should the COPPA laws be ratified, millions of creators will go bankrupt while most children's channels like Cocomelon will be spared from termination. Whether your favorite channel is gonna survive the video apocalypse on 2020, I guess we'll never know.
Another bad news I learned recently was the Monsey attacks. During the Hanukkah period, a suspect named Grafton Thomas reportedly entered a house populated with Jews and began a stabbing spree that left 5 Jews wounded. Even though Thomas pleaded not guilty in his trial, the court found him guilty for 5 counts of attempted murder as well as crimes against the Jewish people and is currently serving a prison sentence. I wish I was joking but the Monsey attacks did cause outrage throught the Jewish diaspora, as well as in Israel.
Finally, I'd like to wish you guys a happy Hanukkah and I also hope that the Monsey victims get a quick recovery. I will finish some of the Storytime with Sirloin episodes that I haven't continued on.
